I’ve been on this set of trails at least a couple of dozen times, but somehow I’ve never come across this building before. I’ll have to go back sometime without my son to check it out a bit more.
A couple of extra pictures from the trail. One of the “yellow spring” the nearby town is named for and a grotto just downstream from the spring.

Given that he just went to see IT last weekend I figured exploring old creepy house in woods by iPhone light would not be a good idea.
